Radial Farm Tire

Radial Farm Tire

A radial farm tire is a type of agricultural tire designed using radial construction, where the internal cords (steel or textile layers) run perpendicular (90°) to the direction of travel, and are reinforced with steel belts under the tread.

It is widely used on tractors and modern farm machinery because it offers better traction, fuel efficiency, and soil protection compared to older bias-ply tires.

⚙️ How radial farm tires are built

A radial tire has three main parts:

  • Casing (carcass plies): cords run from bead to bead at 90°

  • Steel belts: layered under the tread for strength and stability

  • Tread: wide and flexible for grip on soil

👉 This structure allows the tire sidewall to flex while keeping the tread stable on the ground.
