Welcome to Noonday Kitchen!
We are a North Carolina based non - profit dedicated to promoting food access within communities dealing with food insecurity and nutrition deficits.
Likewise, in times of natural disasters, we are dedicated to being on the frontlines of community recovery by providing meals to families and first responders that are impacted by these events.
Programs
Summer Lunch Break
Summer Lunch Break addresses the needs of students who qualify for and rely heavily on the public school systems to provide lunch to them throughout the year. Access to these essential meals gets drastically diminished during the summer months, so we address that disparity by bringing fresh meals directly to their residential areas.
Sunshine Market
Sunshine Market is our take on a classic farmers market that we hold in communities that are recognized as food deserts. This is done to promote food access and wellness within these communities that suffer from a shortage of grocery stores and fresh produce. Ultimately, our goal through this program is to get as much fresh produce and grocery items as we can into the hands of families all throughout Cumberland, Hoke, and surrounding counties.
